How do your tracking devices work?
Our tracking devices have in-built GPS transceivers, meaning that they transmit and receive data regarding location, speed, direction and time.
The devices send that information to our cloud servers then that information is presented to you, the user, on your computer, phone or tablet via a dashboard with the data displayed in simple graphs and pie charts.
You access your dashboard via a mobile app and a web portal.
Is your tracker system compatible with all vehicles?
Yes. Our trackers function independently from the vehicle, so the vehicle's make, type and/or size do not matter.
The trackers depend on the vehicle’s battery for power, however, in cases where the vehicle’s battery power is unavailable, we provide an external source of power called an External Battery Kit (EBK).
How much does tracking cost?
Tracking costs depend on various factors; the number of vehicles, people or packages you’d like to track, the type of tracker you’d like to purchase, the functions you the software to perform etc
How many service types does 3D services offer?
3D Services has 7 Service types namely AI & Video Telematics, Vehicle Telematics, Fuel Telematics, Goods & IoT, Personnel tracing, Vallie afdded Services and Add On Apps each with specific products under it. Explore all of them here
Does the device affect the functionality of the vehicle once installed?
It shouldn’t but in the rare case that it does, we find that the solution is a simple rewiring that our technicians can execute in about an hour.
How long is the subscription period?
The Subscription period can be Quarterly, Bi-annual, or annual.
Do you have prices in local currencies?
We price our products and services in dollars, and we accept payment in local currencies using the exchange rate on the payment date.
Is it possible to connect the tracker to the vehicle without cutting wires?
Yes. We can connect our tracking equipment directly to the fusebox or battery of the vehicle or use contactless connectors.
How long does it take for the device to be installed in the vehicle?
3 to 5 hours depending on the nature of the vehicle and the service type or product and accessories installed.
When should I expect to access the system after installation?
Right away. You get a username and a password (which you can change) and you immediately get access to the system via a mobile app and a web portal on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Is it possible to have more than one service type on one vehicle? If yes, how much does adding one service type to the other cost?
How accurate are your tracking systems?
We guarantee 95% - 99% accuracy depending on what you are tracking. Tracking fuel, for example, ranks lowest on the scale at 95% due to the complexity of measuring a liquid in a moving vessel. Most of the rest of our trackers are 99% effective 100% of the time.
What are the requirements needed for an installation to take place?
We need access to the vehicle, during the day, in a secure place. We need electricity, and in the case of installing a fuel level sensor (FLS), we need a full tank of fuel.
How much does tracking cost?
Tracking costs depend on various factors; the number of vehicles, people or packages you’d like to track, the type of tracker you’d like to purchase, the functions you the software to perform etc
What you can expect is to make a one-off payment for the hardware/tracking devices and installation of those devices, then a monthly subscription fee.
The subscription fee ranges from $4 to $24 dollars per unit per month.
What are the payment terms?
You are required to pay 60% upon orders and 40% on completion of the installations.
Then the recurring subscription which you can pay on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. When you pay for longer subscription periods, say yearly, you receive discounted prices.
Do I get a reminder when my subscription payment is almost due?
Yes, we send you an email and sms to notify you a week or two before your subscription expires.
How will I be able to view the Wialon system as a customer?

Do you offer data for customers?
Yes, your monthly subscription fee comes with a data package for the sim card that we use in the tracker. Every tracker has a sim card.
How comprehensive is your tracking coverage?
Our tracking coverage is 100% dependent on the availability of the cellular network also known as the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). In places where the network is unstable, the devices operate on a store-and-deliver basis.
An example of a store-and-deliver basis is when you are in an area without a GSM network and you try to send a text or say a Whatsapp message on your phone, the message is saved and sent when you get to a place with the network. Likewise, we don’t lose data in areas without a GSM network.
We use duo sim tracking devices to leverage multiple mobile telecommunication providers and we use IoT sim cards for roaming when your vehicles cross borders.
In places where there is no GSM network at all, we have a product called Sato™ which uses a satellite network to sidestep this problem.
How many service types do 3D services offer?
3D services offers 30 service types in the categories of tracking people, goods and services.
What is the difference between the normal service types and the plus? For instance; Mafuta™ and Mafuta Plus, iVMS and iVMS Plus.
The plus usually means that you get to add accessories to the tackers for example sensors that pick up environmental data like temperature, axle load etc. Sensors like panic buttons, immobilisers and more.
If I have tracking hardware from another supplier, can we use it with your system? Unfortunately not. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to support that hardware reliably.
